As it emerged from the challenges of COVID-19, searched for new staff, and moved into a new season of growth, PRCC faced branding, identity, and design challenges for the overall organization, individual ministries, and specific programs.
In a freelance role that included copy, design, video, and production responsibilities, I helped the congregation capture and share its story, refresh and expand visual identities, and elevate communications to a new level.
Profile
Initially developed to introduce the congregation to prospective new staff members, this profile served to present the history, present, and future of the congregation to any audience.
Children’s Ministry
As one of the most vibrant aspects of the congregation, the children’s ministry sought an equally vibrant visual identity that could also be used to create a heightened sense of membership and belonging.
The new logo featured a pinwheel element that represented spirit, fun, and motion.
Merch
The new identity lent itself to branded merchandise people would enjoy, building awareness of the organization and helping kids and parents feel they’re “part of the club.”
Event Variations
The logo system was designed so the pinwheel could occasionally be replaced to customize the mark for different seasons, events, and themes.
Easter Egg Hunt
Karaoke Night
Summer Camp
Game Night
Video Elements
Extending the identity to all media, including video, took on increased importance as increased digital media usage was driven by (and continued after) the COVID-19 pandemic.
Summer of Service
The “Summer of Service” program was created at the intersection of two critical elements in the congregation’s identity: its dedication to its city and its commitment to engaging members in active service.
