Southside Market wanted to expand into more locations and retail stores.
The single-site, legendary Texas butcher shop and barbecue joint was ready to take its “original hot sausage” to more carnivores throughout the Southwest
As a creative director at Kolar Advertising and Marketing, I helped create a new brand identity, message, and personality for Southside, and bring it to life in advertising, packaging, merchandise, and in-store signage, laying the groundwork for the continued success and growth of a business that’s almost 150 years old.
Audio Advertising
A suite of audio spots celebrated the brand’s character and personality but also sold hard, driving awareness and traffic into the Elgin landmark and retailers.
Print Advertising
The ad campaign concept using images from Southside’s own photo album splashed the brand’s identity and passion across magazine, newspaper, and even outdoor.
Merch
Apparel
The Southside brand and attitude could be worn on employees’ and fanatics’ sleeves (and backs).
Coast-cards
Postcards that double as drink coasters (“coast-cards”) reimagined great moments in Southside history, to be collected and even mailed to friends and family.
In-Store
Leaving no stone unturned—or surface untouched—in-store graphics put the Southside stamp on standard point-of-sale signage.
